Cheaper, greener and more stable electricity
Our tariff
The price quoted by electricity suppliers always consists of several components: firstly, the actual price of electricity, the price set by the generator for each kilowatt-hour to which are then added network charges and government taxes, which are also calculated per kWh.
At brupower, we have chosen to be transparent about this base price: it is set at 11 cents per kWh – a stable, straightforward price that does not vary with market fluctuations. Once our electricity enters the Brussels grid, travelling from the generation facilities to consumers, it is subject to network charges and taxes which bring the total price to 29 cents per kWh, whilst remaining competitive with offers from the major suppliers.
0,11 €/kWh electricity tariff
Unlike most other market players, our electricity remains more affordable while relying on four key pillars:
Accessible to everyone
The price is set as low as possible, so that local electricity is accessible to as many people as possible.
Competitive
Brupower sets its prices as close as possible to the actual cost of solar power generation, without any speculative motives. The result is pricing that is lower than most suppliers, whilst still providing a fair wage for the team that keeps the co-operative running on a day-to-day basis.
Transparent and stable
A single price, with no distinctions or complications, for all members. The profits from the most profitable solar projects are redistributed to promote fairness amongst participants.
Energy generated on the roofs of Brussels.
Save between 56€ and 112€ a year. Without needing to change your energy supplier.
How does it work?
Our solar panels, installed on rooftops across Brussels, generate green electricity as soon as the sun comes out
When the sun is shining
Your smart electric meter will automatically switch to our electricity as soon as it becomes available and more affordable. You won’t need to change your supplier or your contract.
Your electric meter adapts
You pay less whilst using greener, more locally sourced energy produced by a community-run co-operative
You save money
Adjust your habits, boost your savings
Shifting your energy-intensive activities to daytime hours increases your savings. Running your washing machine, dishwasher or oven during daylight hours allows your consumption to coincide with Brupower’s solar generation.
Every kWh consumed during daylight hours replaces electricity that is usualy more carbon-intensive and expensive in the evenings.
A simple action with two benefits: for your bill and for the environment.
How does this affect your bill?
Energy sharing results in two separate bills.
You will receive an invoice for the shared energy generated by the brupower panels, at the preferential rate, and a standard invoice for the rest of your consumption from your usual supplier. The more your consumption coincides with our solar generation, the greater the proportion supplied by brupower.
