Suggest a roof
At brupower, we are constantly looking for suitable roofs in Brussels to install our citizen-owned solar panels!
Do you know of any spacious rooftops with potential? (Schools, condominiums, public roofs,...?) Do you want to contribute to a renewable energy system that supports social inclusion in Brussels?
You share your roof, we install solar panels, together we provide sustainable and cheaper electricity!

Complete this checklist. Is the roof you identified:
- enjoying sunlight? (at least part of the day?)
- new, renovated or well insulated (no roof renovations in the next 10 years)?
- free of asbestos, to your best of knowledge?

Questions about our offer?

brupower is a citizen-owned energy cooperative, which unlike third party investors is locally owned and operated by citizens, who also use the energy produced. Their primary goal is to benefit the local community and create social and ecological value. Third-party investors, on the other hand, are usually (part of) large corporations or investment firms that focus mostly on generating profits for their shareholders and operate on larger scales.
If you are interested in energy sharing, brupower will be the most convenient and ethical option for you. Unlike with third-party investors, brupower takes care of all the administrative work for you (no need to create a legal entity, doing all the paperwork, etc. to start the energy sharing process!).
We provide the citizen capital and expertise needed to install solar panels on your property. We take care of all maintenance, repair and monitoring. In return, you benefit from clean energy, reduced electricity bills, without the upfront costs.
As we are still a young cooperative and we need to focus on financial viability too, we concentrate our efforts mostly on spacious roofs (+30 solar panels to give you an idea).
If you are unsure whether your roof would be suitable, please contact us!
brupower realizes solar projects with citizen participation through the framework agreement the Flemish Energy Company (VEB) in the Brussels Capital Region. Governments can have cooperative solar panels installed on their buildings through this framework contract without a tendering procedure or their own financing. VEB's offer is aimed at (local) administrations, schools and other public services. Every organization that has to respect public procurement legislation is eligible! Looking for more info or signing up for a cooperative solar project right away? Surf to the VEB website. or contact us directly.
When you share your roof with the cooperative, we share your energy with other brupower members too!

Savings depend on factors such as the size of your solar system, your current energy usage, and the rate you pay for electricity. Typically, participating members see a reduction in their electricity costs, especially if they can adapt their energy consumption to the availability of the energy (when the sun is shining!).
